Report posted by Capt. Lindsay Fuller of the June Bug on 1/15/08 June Bug was moved to Oregon Inlet for the winter back in November. The weather has been pretty windy but nice catches of Stripers are possible on calmer days. In fact, the Yellowfins and Bluefins are still around in some quantity. Since the weather is so iffy, we moved June Bug around to Spencer Yacht in Wanchese for her winter maintenance. Not much needs to be done this year. Just some paint touch ups, new lights in the engine room and cockpit, and a new live-well pump and through-hull pickup. After we repowered, the additional speed made the pump run dry at cruise speed and that's not good for the live bait. It all turns into "used to be live bait" pretty quickly so the new intake will fix that. We'll start fishing again in March when the weather improves. Start thinking about fishing trip dates for 2008. Right now we are accepting deposits for fishing charters at 2007 prices through the end of February. Send in a $300 deposit and you can pick your charter date in the spring. Send your $300 deposit check payable to SouthEast Sportfishing to 576 Sentinel Road, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Include a note with your name, address, home phone, cell phone, and e-mail address and the type of trip you want to charter. Prices will be going up in 2008 to cover our increased costs. Capt.
