The day dawned fair and June Bug left the dock dealing with a Full Moon Low Tide.  She promptly ran aground on the infamous Phillip Norris Memorial Lump just outside the entrance to our lagoon.  This is the Lump that Mr. Norris claims does not interfere with any mariner and has fought tooth and nail to break up the neighborhood dredging fund set up to deal with it.  Capt. Rich in TowBoatUS had to get us off.  The day's start was poor to say the least.  This was not June Bug's first incident with the Phillip Norris Memorial Lump!

We picked up the Haggerty party at Beach Haven Yacht Club and away we went.  Capt. John Lewis was the Mate for the day and the Junior Mate was Pat Coyne.  Since the littlest Haggerty was Fiona at age 4, we didn't plan to go out the Inlet.  We started Fluking at the "Green" buoy at the head of the Inlet and the drift was strong since the wind and tide were alligned.  1.8 knots.  We sped along the sod banks catching nothing but large masses of sea lettuce.  No Fluke.  After a full drift, we moved out into the Inlet proper.  The drifts there were just as quick.

We worked all of the little holes and bumps that we know in the Inlet to no avail but the weather was so nice, our party had a great time together anyway.  Liam worked very hard at trying to catch a fish and little Fiona was talking ot the fish as well.  Father Pat did catch a Sand Shark that was large enough to fillet.

All in all a fun day.  That is the goal, isn't it?
