This weekend allowed a huge fleet to attack the Tuna and Billfish offshore.  Every canyon was full.  Saturday had perfect weather and Sunday was decent as long as the boats got in before 6 p.m. when a terrible thunderstorm rolled across Beach Haven.

Once again there were tons of large whales, pilot whales, and porpoise.  There were also more birds and surface bait than previous weeks making it easier to actually find the pods of tunafish.  We spent time in both the Spencer and Lindenkohl and ended up with 12 Yellowfins to 100 pounds.

The tuna pods each held fish of the same size, as per usual.  The sizes of Yellowfins ran from not quite legal (27"), to well over 100 pounds.  White Marlin popped up behind the baits on a regular basis but were their normal, wary selves.  We did hook two but they hopped off after a couple of jumps.  Several boats reportedly released Blue Marlin and one boat reported releasing a Sailfish.

This may be the best tuna run of over 20 years.  Book a date and get in on the fun.  Give us a call at 609-685-2839 or e-mail at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to check on dates, etc.
